If you're asking for insight on the Plaza last, I may have to rethink my size for our group MTO. I was already starting to wonder if your foot was even a little bit bigger than mine and your latest report makes me think I need to go down to my original plan of 11.5D instead of the TTS 12.

I'll have to pm CHRK33 and see if it's not too late to change.

^ I went with 12C. I think we can still change it up until the point we put money down. speaking of the boot, do you know if will have a single seam or just a strip of leather

Not sure if we even discussed that. CHRK33 might know.

Most captoe boots I have seen have the a leather strip covering the back seam. Wingtip boots will have a single seam. I'm hoping that is the case with our Mto boot

Good God! thats a very good looking pair of boots you got there! If that's color 8, then the choice has become a lot more simpler to me now :) Thanks for picture.

Thanks guys. Im a true 10 and went with the 10D. The grant last definitely fits me TTS. A 9.5 would have been too small.

    - I have a pair of barely worn Ravello longwings in 8.5 for sale. details here

    - also on the subject of black, thoughts on these guys as an all around tromping around boot?

I've come around to the commando sole, I don't wear suits so the informality is a good tradeoff for the practicality.

I received my Alden Alpine Wingtips x AlanC from Leather Soul yesterday and have to say that they are absolutely gorgeous. I may have to break decorum and wear this a few days in a row. Great wok AlanC!

With respect to sizing for the MTO whiskey shortwing boot, there wouldn't be any problem changing your size until you confirm with Mike and put down your deposit. So that should be totally fine.

As for the leather strip covering the back seam vs. a single seam, we didn't specify but my understanding is that the shortwing boot style will be identical to the Brixton boot Mike currently has coming. But regardless I agree, a single seam is better; I will confirm. Thanks for the heads up.

I use both. Metal in front (because I think it affords more protection and is more aesthetically appealing) and rubber in back (to match the common rubber heel inserts). I have to find a local cobbler in dc who can do the flush metal toe taps in the front like the link below:

    http://leffot.com/2011/06/23/alfred-sargent-mto/

That would be the ideal fix.

Most of my shoes have rubber heel taps. Some have rubber toe taps too. I'm not sure anyone in my area can do the flush metal toe plates.
