These are the Alpine Grain Perf tip boots. The waterlock sole holds up well in the wet, but you may notice that I've almost completely destroyed the toe on these. I may have to resole them earlier than I thought and get metal taps put on them.

saw someone trying on some whiskey chukkas at the madison ave store today and he was flexing the boot to make the largest crease he could, asking the sales person "now if I do this, see that big crease, am I going to not like that in the future? see, I can make it on the other foot, too"

    hope he bought those

I picked this up recently from Leffot.
    So far, so good.
    Sorry for the lousy pic.

Fritzl, as usual, is correct. Dainite is awful in snow. It is very slippery and does not provide any tracation. I think it works fine with a little bit of water but once the temperature drops it is useless.

So can someone give me a quick rundown on the properties of cordovan? I'm seriously considering the Alden cordovan cap toes sold through J Crew, as I've had no other luck with cheaper boots. I'm most afraid that they'll begin to bubble around the toe box, which I think looks hideous...

My newest addition: Leffot ravello cap toe boot.

    Perfection in boot form imo.
