1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I think there is something to the deer bone. I believe there is naturally a lot of oils in them, which can be good for leather, esp. cordovan. I also think the roundness of the bone helps to flatten out the folds. But, I would imagine a combination of synthetic products and a plastic round tube like thing in roughly the shape of a real bone could likely accomplish the same thing but maybe not as simply or easily.

See this video for a deerbone in action:

Think too of neatsfootoil, which is used by Horween as a final nourishment to their Chromexel leather. Neatsfoot oil comes from the shins of cattle I believe. So, there must be a lot of oils in the shins of these four-legged animals or something.

Most important question of the day, Fenway, where did you get #4 Indys? PM me so I can get them in my size before the entire thread has a collective freakout. :D

Also, can someone tell me what last the AlanC Leathersoul boots are on? I couldn't find it on the LS website; I know I must be missing it somewhere.

It appears that there was an influx of #4 shoes on the market, which kinda sucks...not so much the white unicorn anymore...and kinda cool (people actually get to get some) at the same time.

Shoemart. I really don't like Indy boots but I still called to see - the woman I spoke with denied they existed so they may be reserving them for walk-in customers or their special peeps.

+1 I still have an unused pair of the 4x4s from LS - maybe this will convince me to actually wear the friggin things! :embar:

Truth be told - I like the ravello color better.

btw, the seller describes condition as "2/3" but I think they look like "4"

All of our items are graded on this rating system:
1 Brand new with or without tags
2 Gently worn one to two times, Like New condition
3 Gently worn, light wear, Excellent overall condition
4 Minor Flaws and/or medium wear, Good overall condition
    5 Worn and Loved

Just be patient, they will come. My last 2 pairs took about 13 months to come in. They will be worth the wait.

Pretty sure I want to pre-order one of the suede longwings from LS, but I can't decide which one. I'm leaning toward the dark brown suede - I don't own any dark brown shoes whatsoever, so I think these would fill a really big gap in my rotation. I'm having trouble figuring out exactly what they'll look like though...have these actually been made previously, or is this a new make-up? Anyone have pics of something similar? I saw someone asked on the blog post about what the sole will look like for these, so as soon as that is answered, it should help me make my decision.

I'm not sure if LS has made a longwing in dark brown suede, others on here may now. I'd imagine it would look close to the AoC makeup sans the Commando sole seen here.
