Nice pick up. I had these in tan once but wasn't sure about the Leydon last and/or color. Might have to revisit in snuff or dark brown.

No luck finding them in your size? Did the ShoeMart seconds list ever come through?

Get the suede Chukkas! Seriously, they were comfortable in the store, a very little slippage, but nothing bad. Have had them on all day and I swear they just get more and more comfortable. Granted it's only been a few hours, but any slippage in the store is long gone, and I can already feel my foot taking shape to the shoe.

For the guy who said he was between suff and brown. Yes, I'd go for both, but if you had to pick one I think the snuff color is pretty unique, and would go that route. I've already been complimented by 3 different people today on these boots

yes agree with snuff, which is what i went with. its consistently a lot of stores' best seller. its a unique color and ages well. the dark brown and tan are nice but are more "normal"

snuff is unique and still goes with everything very well

I ended up just getting a pair of J. Crew Macalister's to hold me off, as I'm going to London in a couple months for study abroad and can't afford even $300 chukkas. I think a pair of those Alden's will be a gift to myself when I get back :foo:

So...what's different between the suede chukka and the shell #8 chukka? Can I still get that chukka love with shell #8 or is suede the way to go...no much of a suede wearer.

Haha... yes, it would seem like it. But honestly, my feet seems to be happier with the softer calfskin.

The unlined suede chukkas are usually on the Leydon last with a single flex welt sole. It's a fairly lightweight shoe.
The #8 chukkas are usually on the Barrie with a double leather. It's not a lightweight shoe.

Of course there are plenty of exceptions to the above with special makeups and such.
