Thanks for your opinions on eyelets vs speed hooks. On a 9 eyelet Alden, do you need to fully take the laces out or a couple eyelets to get them on, or just loosen them up?
Regardless of all eyelets or speed hooks, I always undo the top 4 positions. This allows me to slip my boots on with minimal effort + shoe horn. I don't wanna put any unwanted pressure on the heel counter and it works for my OCD of being consistent out the box.

Ok sizing question for Alden LHS (looking at suede and cordovan). I'm a 9.5UK/ 10US in EG on 82 and 888 lasts and 9UK/ 9.5US on 202 last (Cranleigh). US sneaker size is generally a 10.

I was thinking about 9.5 for Alden loafers, does that sounds right?

I take the same size in all my EG stuff (7.5UK/8US) with the exception of their loafers (7UK/7.5US F) and I went down half from my regular size for my LHS (7.5US).

I'm thinking you'll probably be a 9 on the Van last

Great photos! Makes me want to own a pair of suede boots too lol
Thank you, and I think it’d be a good addition to your collection
I especially like the contrast of the eyelets and suede. Is this one of the standard models or a special from a retailer?
I bought it from another member, but I believe it’s this ones
