I'm having issues myself on the mobile site...I think these new scrolling ads might be the cause. Literally puts everything to a crawl when loading the pages and half the time the website freezes. Another issue is that the "privacy" page pops up every time I change the screen. I'll hit the site...privacy screen. I hit notifications...privacy screen again. I hit Aldden thread...privacy screen. go to previous or next page---privacy screen....gets F'ing annoying and I've been avoiding using the site on my mobile...which is a shame as that's how I usually share photos...I'm using a Samsung S21 Ultra and keep it "updated"..it's 3 years old by now but you'd think it could handle the ads and have the site save privacy preferences...

I just never connected it to the issue I’m having with loading pic’s. I may experiment with taking pics on my iPad and see if that works.

Ha. That’s both fair and funny (though my collection is likely about average for this site).

It's sometimes hard to work everything into the rotation when you play favourites...but it's hard not to play favourites...and of course the others will still be in the closet next year...but hey...might as well work another favourite into the rotation...or maybe this other one.....

and yes...many here are probably sitting on the same size collections...but can't let facts get in the way of a wise crack...

When I used to try to post pictures with my older android phone, SF would always require me to resize them to about 1/3 of their original size. With my newer iphone, I can just load the original size and it doesn't reject it. Just to show you all that these are blue, here's another shot in a different light.

The mobile site is truly exhausting. If people have to start uploading phone pics to their computers to put in posts, well, things will get bleak.

There’s a kind of dumb but simple way to reduce the file size using iOS. Email the pic to yourself. Insert the pic in message and when you tap send it gives option to reduce size.

This is how I do it, never had any issues with file size. The ads are getting a little obnoxious though.

I'm going to have to try out some black shell boots. I've been more into the other colours but the more I see of black shell boots, the more I'm starting to think I should add a pair ( or 2) into the collection..

I like a pair this like one, that has some pattern and also a commando sole. It goes with everything from jeans to even a suit in bad weather. Say you have to walk in a city the day after a snowstorm. You can throw these on stomp away in any outfit. And they are easy to clean and maintain. The fact they are in black psychologically makes you baby them less.

My two black “boots” right now are this one and a chukka. I think my first cordovan boots ever were the 4060 (or 4065?), the black straight tip shell boots on double leather on the grant last. That’s a great choice as well

This is useful to know. I tend to use mainly chrome but I've had issues with the page crashing on SF. I wasn't sure if it was pictures, ads, etc, but it regularly encounters errors and doesn't load pages when I'm scrolling SF on Chrome (via iphone).

The fact that phone cameras have gotten so good and file size has gotten so large yet there aren't good resizers innate to the phones' OSs, well, I'm no tech guru but it seems like a no-brainer. Esp since 95% of phone pics are used on the web, not 17mp 11x14 prints.

I realize I may be giving away my $500 idea, but go ahead, steal it, solve the problem, buy me a Scotch. Please.
