They look great. That circled stuff is called bloom, very easy to brush off. It’s just oil from the shell cordovan, very normal. 6.5 Barrie should work, most size down 1/2 size vs. Aberdeen. Are you talking Vans the skate shoes brand or Van last?

Really appreciate your comment and I have just placed the order. I believe it should be the leydon last (typo earlier…not van last) that is on the suede chukka. Both leydon last and Aberdeen I am wearing u.s 7 and from what I read I should size down half a size. I remember I have tried Barrie in 6.5 few years back and stockist here no longer have this size. I have heard about bloom but never actually seen one and it has never developed on my NST. I guess the shop really have it store in the box for an extensive period of time. Recent pick-up from Leffot continuing the handsewn theme. Smooth Chamois has been a real favorite of mine lately and this make-up delivers! Tobacco Smooth Chamois Tanker Boots with 360 flat welt, dark brown welt/edges with matching eyelets and hooks on Barrie. The commando soles will give these versatility. Debating whether I swap the laces with the usual thin round waxed GG laces or keep the flat waxed laces.

Just got my color 8 plain toe boots resoled back from Aram, which was the first time using his services after seeing other users suggest him. Absolutely thrilled with how they came out. They look almost new despite being from 2018. These were originally AoC AF53A, which were resoled prior by someone else so I could ditch the commando soles. I had Aram put them on black neocork (a sole I still think is way underutilized with make ups imo)
You’ll have to excuse the bad indoor lightning but these do have the nice eggplant color in sunlight.

Thank you! Neocork and waterloc are my two favorite soles from Alden. I just wish the neocorks were used more often in dealer makeups since outside of icy conditions it is really versatile and way better than commando imo.

Not the best shots, and Aram may have hit them with some color 8 polish but I’m sure they fade back nicely. These are my most worn Alden’s outside my 405s. Hundreds of miles on them and been to Japan multiple times with me.
