Let us know what you think of the wedge sole vs. commando sole in rain. Wondering if the wedge sole isn't slippery when wet on smooth surfaces.

So far I have not found the wedge sole to be slippery. It benefits from many horizontal grooves that disperse the water. Maybe that would not be true when the grooves are worn down, but that is not likely to occur for many years given my shoe wearing habits.

I've used that line a few times as an excuse not to get toppies...needless to say those pairs have all been re-soled...some more than once.. 😅

Do you guys take the same size for full strap vs tassel loafers? Both in the Aberdeen last.

I tried both at Alden Madison and the tassel felt looser around the instep. The guy helping me said that’s normal as the strap adds a bit more pressure to that area.

I have 2 pairs of full strap tassel loafers in shell on the Aberdeen. They seem to fit just as well as others in the same size..but they're the stiffest shoes I have ever worn. Stiff out of the box and just as stiff 15 years later. I don't think I've ever taken the time to figure out why..but perhaps the salesman has a point as none of my other loafers are like that...though I only have those 2 pairs of loafers from Alden.. the rest are other makers (had a pair of lhs in calf but they got hit in slushy, salty snow and have been hiding in the basement the past decade but I remember them being mire comfortable than these..and not sure as to the last)

A little late for Golden Hour, but can't forget to shout-out Wingtip Wednesday with these Ravello LWB!

This is just about as good as it gets...seriously - I LOVE that color pants with the whiskey color wings. I have similar setup, but do it with color 8 wings...I like to match the shoes with the watch..and I would pair it with my favorite belonging...my Panerai PAM663 limited to 1000 pieces with the ultra rare brown face...this is what I grab if there's a fire...

Hi Gents -

Thinking about my next boot purchase. I’m torn between 403 Indys and Color 8 PTBs. I know I know, the right answer is both :)

I have only two boots now but I’m selling both due to sizing issues - suede Chukkas and another 403. Love my 403 so it’s an easy choice getting another pair, in the right size. But a friend is selling a pair of PTBs in great condition and I thought they could be as versatile as Indys, maybe more?

Any thoughts? I wear mostly khakis, navy and dark green chinos, flannels, white deck pants. I’m thinking both would work well but adding different messages to the outfit - the Indys more casual and workwear style, shell PTBs more military and slightly dressed up?

thanks!
