Looks good — but why the green thread?
I want to say “a tribute to Florsheim,” but honestly I tend to “visibly mend” things to show the work. I’ll often use red thread on buttons or sock holes. Here’s an odd jacket from the 1950s that had some moth holes, so I repaired using green also (I don’t like to part with things that fit well). Third pic is a Brooks Bros. sport coat that I thrifted for $6.99. Repaired hole is still too obvious for any important meetings or events, but great for a casual jacket or running around.

Thought you guys might like this.. I believe I have a fractured metatarsal in my left foot, the "ring Finger" toe...Can't get in to Podiatrist for 3 weeks, so these SEaVees and Aberdeen shoes are the only thing that I can wear comfortably (today). I do have a generic right/left orthopedic boot from a previous foot injury years ago, and it may come to that. Doesn't hurt enough to hit the ER yet, but may in a few days...It sucks getting older..Enjoy the week gents! Bonus points if someone can identify the formula on the socks.....

A long time ago. I have a pair from 2010 but assume they’d been making them before that.

I am not sure they used it before then. The first wave was produced from late 2009 through early 2012, and then they did not have it again until 2020.

I have a list of all the first wave Color 4. Recently it’s been one of the standard exotics they’re offering, alongside Ravello and Cigar — Whiskey has gotten very rare these days.

Chemistry was by far my worst subject all throughout school...glad those days are behind me. Hope your toe doesn't cause anymore discomfort until your appointment.

Alden Brothers,

Tomorrow we continue the tradition of June 1st being King Wing Day.

On King Wing Day we ask all Alden brothers to wear their 975 LWB, or closet shoe to it, to honor our late SF friend McArthur. The 975 was Mac’s favorite shoe. He loved color 8 and always referred to it as the King Alden color.

Uncle Mack, as he was affectionately known, was not just a seasoned Alden collector, but a gentleman, dear friend and mentor to many of us on the forum. Our friendships grew to include much more than just shoes.

We lost Uncle Mac 6 years ago April.
We hope you’ll post your #kingwingday photos here and on social media.
We miss ya Uncle Mac.

Thank you nephews.
