Can't always come home to the Green box but the next best thing is a white USPS one when the contents come from our resident ebay proprietor, @MrDV. Grabbed these Aberdeen E-width beauties originating from AoM. Owned a D-width pair when I first got into this game, well before I understood Alden sizing. After much pain and unsuccessful attempts at stretching, had to sell. Been chasing a pair ever since.........

Shoes arrived in great shape but I still went through my normal routine when grabbing preowned. Water, heavy coat of Bick4, 20 minutes later a little brushing and finish up with some Collonil 1909. I generally use neutral but did go with Burgundy this time. Quite please.

Really neat shoe, although I have absolutely no clue what I would ever wear it with. Super cool, and really clean looking though.

i have a #8 cap toe boot on the grant last - any other good grant last boots?
Shameless reply on my part, but Yenni at Brick + Mortar is running one of my designs on Grant…

Thanks. We both love our loafers and like you, I have admired this from afar for.

Thanks. One of the reasons I was a fan is their versatility. For me, they get air time with denim and bus casual, which nowadays is pretty much 95% of what I wear.

random question - is Alden of Carmel retiring/closing up shop? Every time I've popped back they have less and less options (currently, they appear to only have 1 model available...)

This winter I got two pairs of lug-soled reverse chamois Indy boots - the Tobacco “Beast Indy” from LaRossa and this Earth pair from Alden on Madison Ave (D9916H). Both boots have exceeded expectations on their winter performance and are worth seeking out.

I can’t help but feel like the Earth pair deserve a name befitting of how tough they are - I propose that they be known as the “Kong Indy” in reference to King Kong who scaled the Empire State Building just around the corner from the Alden shop on Madison Ave.

What do you think of the name? Anyone else have this pair and love it as much as me?

I love the Earth Chamois. I sold a pair a while back and definitely regret it. They seemed to go with everything.
