So.... alden does its own coating on color 8 for consistency. Horween shell is almost always glazed as well. These are two different finishes. Unglazed shell from Horween isnt a stock option anywhere and is pretty uncommon. If you're just wanting the shell without the coating from Alden then you either need to strip it or just go for another maker.
Thank you...I know that they're rare but since I've seen unglazed #2 and Cigar, I was just checking. Thanks again.

I’ve owned these since 2012 but finally got them resoled locally. I never liked the crepe sole they came with. It was comfortable but always messy looking and seemed to pick up every long strand of hair within a 10 meter radius of where I walked. Finally moved it to Dainite studded, which should work well for the weather I usually wear them in here in Sweden, but I kind of regret not going with a commando of some kind for better grip in the winter.

Man, Alden aged well-cared for shell is just stunning. Those look amazing @vubui. I am curious about the comfort difference (if any) going from crepe to dainite.

Ok this is maybe a dumb question, but what size does it look like in this picture?

FWIW I think Alden’s crepe is very comfortable and studded Dainite is very uncomfortable, but that’s just me.
