These look great and the price, even with shipping, is quite competitive. What I can’t discern from the pic’s is whether they are simply screwed into the sole as-is or did they shave the sole so the is integrated into it?

Sunny cut a chunk out of the existing sole and the plate sits flush. I haven't noticed any clicking noises.
He also touched up the antique sole after installing the plate. The turnaround time was fast as well.

The new trailer for Indy 5 is out. Here are my screen caps. Not exactly clear, but in the 2nd one you can see the TB last shape. But, maybe it's not the 405 or 403. It seems to have a dark welt. Was I imagining a Thomas heel and mock toe when I watched it in real time? Sure do wish I had better computer skills able to capture the shots in HD.

the thing is, we all know Harrison Ford will be wearing Alden boots in the new movie....but what model, who cares, it's perhaps his last chance to play Indiana Jones....and for that we should all be grateful..Perhaps my personal favorite movie "thing", and even though I'm a huge dinosaur fan, Indiana Jones movies rank above Jurassic park movies.....

Can watch it here:

Looks like 405's to me. Indy does not wear 403. :bounce2:

This is one of the movies that uses reverse age computer effects to move back and forth between old age Indy with his current face and younger Indy as we saw him in the earlier movies.

Anyone here seen this guy's video on removing finish from Alden shell?

Really interesting. Tempted to try it myself on one pair just to see. Really don’t have a problem with original.

The Alden acrylic finish is good when new is good, but my personal observation is that it tends to go "south " over a little time, leaving a cloudy look to the boots...I think that maybe a bare finish, let the shell show it's own color, would be better.
