Yenni’s 9 Eyelet Captoes on Barrie in Color 8. Also: does anyone else bring backup shoes everywhere in case of a malfunction? If I’m not wearing them, the 405s are always in the Jeep…

Where did you get your laces?

When I was in CA I would drop in to my local Redwing store and just ask for a pair. They always handed them over at no charge. I think it is just a great boot lace. If they are a little long you can cut it to the right length and hit the end with a flame to seal it up so it will not unravel.

MV of these TSM 2022 Cigar Tankers. Dark? Who cares. Been hunting this make for years after I moved a pair back when I didn’t understand Alden sizing. Thrilled to have a second chance………

Always uncertain on lacing. Flat looks a little better but hard to beat the convenience of round, especially when paired with hooks.

Happy Monday gang. Have a great week!

EDIT - sometimes it’s all about the lighting. I’m sure the bus ride in didn’t lighten these up but when viewed in really ugly elevator lighting, they don’t look quite as dark……

I think round laces just look better, regardless of eyelets or speed hooks. Nothing like getting a pair you've been on the hunt for and enjoying them! Ugly elevator lighting FTW!

Sharing a few of my latest pick-ups. First up is a pair of Color 8 Medallion Cap Toe Quarter Brogue boots from Alden of DC on Grant last with double leather soles. The 360 flat welt and edge color is dark brown/black. Hard to tell in the first few photos, but the uppers have beautiful Burgundy tones that express themselves in different angles.

Inspired by the above post, I wore mine today. Great to break out some fall pants with temps in the 50s. Above the waist, an orange Inis Meain Beartini stitch mock neck.

True that, reminds me of my wife's blow torch experiments with hairspray back in the mists of time, along with my campfire in the basement of my parents home.
