Gentlemen,

I am excited to share with you, a relatively recent model in the new (to Alden) shade of Shell Cordovan, Old Bronze. I am a little late to the game on these, but I guess better late than never! These were probably the most interesting run that I have seen by Alden, in a long time, as they just made one model without consulting stores and then shipped the same exact model to a few shops, providing them just one pair per size. Without further ado, here are some of the pictures...

Great boot. But does the distribution method suggest you were not able to get your non-standard size?

First, these are amazing. They remind me of when Adam released the C2 Wings in that my initial reaction was 'meh' but after seeing a few of them, wow. Equally impressive is the decision Alden made on the distribution. First I'm hearing that and I think it was a stroke of genius. Good for them.

My gawd AC, these are just stunning. By chance are they from Mack on 379x?

Thanks! Just plain old Barrie-lasted boots from the San Francisco shop.

Having returned home from vacation, was finally able to get around to photographing my latest pick-ups, both from Mack at Brogue.

These "Ybor" Navy Nubuck LHS loafers on Van last are super impressive! Mack said this Navy Nubuck material was found sitting in the Alden factory and dates back to the 90's. They're on single Waterloc soles with 360 Antique flat welts. Not sure if this is consistent with other's experience but I took Van Last in half a size smaller than my Barrie boots. I plan on wearing these without socks.

Second pick-up from Mack are these Whiskey Shell Cordovan Jumper boots! Was fortunate enough to have these offered to me! Noticed a little uneven discoloration towards the heel counter, but could also be some bloom? Renovateur and GG laces are on tonight's list of things to do while watching TV.

Those look super nice! How do you find the leather?

The Indy boot version of these in navy nubuck is on pre-order now at Brogue Shop… recommend?

Nubuck I believe is suede that has the nap sanded down. It's still very smooth. Has some character to it as well and isn't perfectly even (look at the left shoe across the vamp). I hit it with 2 coats of suede and Nubuck Renovateur yesterday, so I'll see how they look. I'll post my first wear here and maybe provide pics after I get home.

Nubuck is sanded calf/grain, not the other side (suede)

Hey Guys,

Is anyone in touch with @chipshot outside of the forum? I DM'd him a month or so ago and noticed that he hasn't posted in a while. Good dude and I was just hoping everything is ok with him and his family.
