I've also heard horror stories about sending your boots back for any kind of service
Too bad they aren't willing to do a sole swap... Oh well. I'll need to seek out a private cobbler now

Can anyone here reco a cobbler to resole a pair of Indys? Looking to convert a pair from 360 reverse welt on crepe (🤮) to 270 storm welt on neocork. Hopefully Chicagoland based, but willing to ship the boots if it comes to that. Feel free to DM me

did Alden change their laces? I ordered a pair of 54" brown cotton laces and a pair of their brown waxed cotton laces from the shoe mart. But both seem to be lighter than before? I have attached some photos.

2nd pair seem closer colour wise… Showing them side by side without boots would be better. I’d assume there’s variation with dye lots.

May 2022: Ultimate Spring Shoes

Gentlemen, I wanted to kick off May’s monthly topic. Take all the time that you need to think of your personal response, as you got the rest of the month to work on a post that suits you and captures your thoughts, so no need to rush to post a response today!

The theme is "Spring Blossoms", or what is your ultimate footwear choice for the Spring Season. In between the colder winter months and the hot summer months is a great time of year. Is your climate still too cold and you are still reaching for your Boots or is it so hot that you need unlined loafers? Looking forward to seeing what everyone has to offer!

Please reply to this post to make your responses easier to see. Thank you so much and I very much look forward to seeing everyone’s thoughts (and I am sure discussions) this month!

I posted in here a few times inquiring as to how people store their shoes. I ended up having a credenza-styled shelving unit made for me that'll act as shoe storage + media console for a future bedroom TV + a general table.

I had previously stored these in a large armoire but moved a couple of years ago and they've been in boxes on the floor since then. I'm going to put the shoe bags back on them but then need to figure out a way to differentiate what's on each shelf, etc.

Also, is there any demand for shoe boxes or should I just recycle them? Not trying to make money or anything but curious if people are frequently looking for old Alden boxes. Most of mine are in good shape.
