Any one having issues in contacting Mack at the Brogue Shop? I am trying to contact him with an issue on my order by regular email and the shop's email, but still have not heard back.

Store is closed at the moment due to CV19 as mentioned on the website. I was there last Thursday for about 30 min and got a CA-Notify alert that I was exposed. Going in for testing this morning. Fortunately everyone was following protocols very well and I was using a fresh KN95 at the time. I hope everyone there is OK, they are such nice folks!

Out and about for some errands today, and decided to keep running the Dr. Jones boots. Also figured I'd wear the Gustin Okayamas for a while and let the Raleigh Denim pair rest.

Clever...

M-Guy, those #8 Dr. Jones are looking absolutely superb on you! Hard to beat that model and a great pairing as always with lovely denim!

The flat waxed laces arrived today and I think they dress up the Indy a bit more than the more casual cotton laces. I like them both but I think I’m going with the waxed (I mean) cotton laces… for now. ?? View attachment 1742973 View attachment 1742972

Johnnie, both options are a win to me! I think that you can't go wrong! I am a huge fan of the Flat Waxed laces, but I know I am of a growing minority in that department here...

Were those the 8.5Es they would not let me try on last week because someone had them on hold?

Those Snuff Tankers are looking absolutely superb on you! Such a classic and great looking boot!

Out the door in some LWBs. Odd lighting or phone camera as they are not this brown.

Doc, those Ravello Gunboats are looking just amazing! Great looking shoes and you are wearing them exceptionally well!

Savvy, those are two great Color #8 models and are a great demonstration of the versatility of the model! It is nice to see you rocking a more casual model occasionally! :)

V, those Choco Suede Tankers are one of the must get and you are 100% showing why. Those are so great and look great with your peachy jeans!

Squizzy, those Alpine Grain MCT Bluchers are looking great on you and you are looking stylish and warm in your overall ensemble today!!!

Same here, except mine isn't an issue. Just having difficulty communicating with them over email. Let me know if you hear back from them, but as others have mentioned, they're currently closed (in-store) due to C19.

And at least for the moment, Alden has not been doing commando on larger sizes with reverse welts wider than E, I believe.
Correct. Although, my experiences have varied a bit. Jim was able to get “The Innes” for me and Yenni was able to do “4th Avenue” (both in eee during 2021) because the makeups had flat welts. But, yes, I think Alden has just said “no ee or eee” on commando at all now (as you say).

I think it’s all commando now (regardless of welt). That’s what’s confusing. The Shoe Mart sent an email and Madison notes it in preorders/workshop models.

I'm curious what about it they are having problems with. I have commando soles with reverse welts, so it obviously worked in the past. Are they changing the commando build? Updating it to fit larger sizes better, and maybe reducing instances of separation from the leather sole?

I wore these for Mother’s Day in both 2013 and 2021. They had their first Alden refurb in Feb. of 2019. My guess is that I’ve had them for close to 20 years.

Say hello to an old friend of mine. (….don’t say anything but he’s had a little work done. ?)
