sounds like she was a lucky dog, but you were an even luckier person to have had her in your life. dogs really are the best living things on the planet.

That fear will probably come true earlier than you think. It is real.
For quite some time I thought I can't spend Alden prices and stayed away, then a promotional offer from Alden of Madison for a pair of Indys in my size (US13E) came along and I decided to take the plunge. Within a year I was at 4 pairs of Indys and 1 on pre-order and added another Indy pre-order by 15th month.
Wallet & Wife are both worried now with the obsession, as am I !!!
I am sure many of our journeys are along more or less similar lines.

I hear you. My initial goal was to find a pair of black calf cap toe shoes for court and church That fit without a v gap. That’s all I needed and I coughed up Alden money because they fit as desired. I was very happy. Surely there would be no real harm if I found one more pair at some really great price. My signature tells the rest of the story.

Update: I finally scrolled down and saw your ravello Indys. You are a goner.

I know this is an older post but I just want to point out two things. First, dang Doc, the shine on these is high even for someone with your lofty standards. Second, it goes to the point about antique edges on 8. The commando sole really breaks up the contrast and gives it a little more versatility than antique/8 otherwise has.

Pretty cool when you can get your better-half to indulge us in this silly habit we have of taking shoe pics. Even better when the pic involves a simply sublime shade of ravello. Well done my-man!

We always love seeing dogs in the shoe and boot posts…. Sorry for your lost.. go find another adoption candidate.. too many doggies looking for homes to buy one.. my 2 cents
