Not quite Barbour weather yet, but I did take the chance to break out this pair of cavalry twills. Don't think I've worn them with these unlined dovers before, but I like it.

Fellas looking for opinions. Same boot, but can't decide on edge color, which would you pick? I plan on wearing them with jeans and a tucked-in oxford/polo
I have dark edge and find them more versatile and wear with jeans often

I was going to say the same exact thing. I have the same wear pattern - toe and outer heel. I wonder if you can just replace the dovetail. You can definitely replace just the heel block. And, I concur about the sunken metal toe taps. Extremely effective. I have them on a pair of EG and the soles look almost new. I'm going to do them on all my dress shoes as I resole them.
Any recommendations on a cobbler(I live in Philly)? I have the same issue, the toe areas get worn out fast and I walk a ton

@jischwar @audog @scurvyfreedman thanks for guidance fellas

Likewise agree with @jischwar but would add that you might consider doing toe plates now. If the balls of sole are still solid and you are just prone to toe drag you can probably get a ton more mileage out of the original soles this way. Probably about $80, give or take, for toe plates and new heel toplifts so call it roughly 50-60% of the price of a good resole (you still have the some life on the heels but probably best to do the toe plates sooner so that the wear doesn't need to be built up by the cobbler).
