I had an even longer deeper cut on this pair of boots. @JSO1 suggested I might be able to brush it away, which seemed ludicrous at the time, however I took his suggestion and brushed it regularly over 6 months (2+ years ago) and it has practically disappeared. Perhaps if I continued to brush it the last 2 years it'd actually have disappeared completely. It's more obvious in this photo than it is in real life. IRL you'd almost not notice it or just think it's a normal old surface scuff/scratch.

Think massaging with a deer bone could help? I've done that with scuffs and it helps. Add some Renovateur and brush as well, but never had an actual cut in the leather.

Hey Dog.. they look great.. we don’t get hung up on imperfections.. they are shoes after all.. they get worn and imperfections no longer exist.. beautiful dog you have there.. nevertheless.. I only have one dog.. and would trade my entire collection to keep her in good stead..

Guys,

Though this in only tangentially related to Alden, it does relate to shell shoe care so I decided to post here in hopes of informing the crew.

I am a huge fan of Collonil 1909 Supreme Creme De Luxe but I think Pure Polish may have just edged ahead ever-so-slightly. A couple of guys I follow on IG swear by this stuff so I tried their Cleaner Conditioner and quite honestly, was a bit underwhelmed. I didn't realize they had a product specifically for shell, their Natural Cream Polish. Man, this stuff is amazing. And the good news is that price-wise it is very competitive with the Collonil, especially if you hit the $45 mark and get free shipping.

No before shots, but I have been having trouble getting my BB Unlined penny's to glow for a while. Notanymore! I decided to hit the natty shell AE Tassels to put them up for sale. Notanymore. These babies are staying with papa. The unlined whiskey's were only added after I saw how the AE's turned out........
