Using standard dye on suede makes for very hard suede.Hey @madhat, I always use Feiblings as my weapon of choice. Looking through the supply of dyes I've acquired over the years, I couldn't locate any for suede/roughest. I wonder if that was my mistake the last time I tried. I dyed a pair of Rancourts once and the leather was so thick that I used much more dye than normal. They had the same problem you describe. These seem pretty solid. Fingers crossed ?.
I generally prefer Angulus, but I have tried Fiebings and they work fine.
