I’m also reaching for more tb and Barrie lasted boots lately.
Probably been dressing way more casual since the pandemic.

I agree. I had a pair of 403s and they looked pretty rough after barely any wear. Not as bad as on some colors though.

403's actually look more like the "work boot" they really are meant to be, with some CXL loose grain and wrinkles. Would look out of place with nice wool trousers, but with denim or Chino's (Khaki's) they are nice pairing.

I wish that last could work for me. Missing out on a lot of solid makeups because of fitting issues.

On the other hand, I'm really enjoying the uptick of 379x. That is currently my favourite.

379X is a close second but Trubalance feels like it was made for my foot. It’s interesting how there is still not a lot of pattern diversity on either last — I’d like to see some more experimentation there.

I just never liked how they creased across the vamp. I don’t mind the loose grain on the quarters as much but across the vamp I’d rather have tighter creasing.

I've found across brands that creasing on an apron/moc toe bugs me more than a cap toe or plain toe. I think its because they can break across the pattern that it bugs me more.

Markets generally don't like lasts with blobby toebox years ago? (with an exception of Japan)

hanpton is a very underutilized last for boots. finally seeing more on it recently.

Let’s try and keep this conversation cordial and comments generically positive unless honest feedback is requested. It is okay for gentlemen to have a disagreement. hot take: my favorite aldens right now are all on Trubalance. Thoughts?

TB is a great last, so no thoughts other than I can see why a favorite.

Understand, and CXL can crease rather "severely" on the vamp.
