May 2021: Spring Blossoms
Gentlemen, I wanted to kick off May 2021’s monthly topic. This is our second seasonal themed topic, following our Winter Wonderland theme. Take all the time that you need to think of your personal response, as you got all month to work on a post that suits you and captures your thoughts, so no need to rush to post a response today!
Spring is just a truly exquisite time of year (well except for allergies), but the beautiful flowers are in bloom and growth is all around us. What are the Alden's that you equate with spring time? Do you start pulling out your loafer collection and suedes or day you hold back until the heat of summer? Look forward to seeing what everyone's favorite Springtime Alden!
Please reply to this post to make your responses easier to see. Thank you so much and I very much look forward to seeing everyone’s thoughts (and I am sure discussions) this month!

Great looking tassels, I'm assuming they're snuff? The only reason I am asking is bc they look a bit polo on my screen and to my eyes.Weeks ago I asked a stupid question on this thread about caring tips for reverse chamois, and was told there's nothing I have/could do. Yesterday I stepped in AOM and asked the same question. Anthony kindly recommended me the neatsfoot oil.
Shoe care Sunday and they turn out great! (with my outfit yesterday, Brogue Harvey tassels on their maiden voyage)

I’d try a small dab of goo gone worked in with a toothbrush pat dry and then a small dab of conditioner. Maybe a stiff suede brush if the toothbrush doesn’t do it.Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone can give some advice on this pesky problem I've been having. I put the heel pads on my color 8 BB Tassel loafers, however they were not the solution and the tongue pad will be tried again, however after removing the pads with a hairdryer, they have left this nasty glue residue and I cannot get rid of it. I have used warm soapy water as well as some rubbing alcohol. Can anyone shed some light on this? I have attached some photos.
Much appreciated!

Thanks, they are in Humus suede (in the middle between snuff and dark brown). I am also interested in the color of polo suede, is that a substitute name for brown?Great looking tassels, I'm assuming they're snuff? The only reason I am asking is bc they look a bit polo on my screen and to my eyes.
I agree with the neatsfoot oil for chamois...smooth or reverse.
Do the leather lhs stretch out like the unlined Suede lhs? Looking at getting a pair of these as well? Do they wear hot?View attachment 1603382
eggplant ?
I thought it was an AE thing but now I am starting to realize that I do not do well ordering shoes online, especially factory seconds, so this might be my final time (at least for the foreseeable future).
Would it make sense that if I am a good candidate for the Modified last, that I would be a 9E on Modified (confirmed in-person by Ronnie of Moulded Shoe via trying on several Modified lasted shoes) and 9.5D on Barrie (not confirmed by Ronnie but rather via shoes I currently own and were the best fit of any shoe from any brand before I learned about the Modified last)?
Should I try a 9E on Barrie and see if it fits even better than the 9.5D I currently assume works for me?

No I really don’t but a cursory search led me to a few other similar brand name products like; de-solv-it, un-du and goof-off. Also found a plethora of natural and flammable alternatives (also personally untried) from dawn dishwashing detergent and baking soda to kerosine, olive oil and mayonnaise. Out of all of these, I’d be the most surprised if mayonnaise turns out to be the winner.Appreciate the suggestion. I am currently in Asia and there is no access to goo gone lol, anything else that might work as an substitute?
thanks again
