Gentlemen, the theme of April is simple, your perfect pairing! What do I mean by that? Well, simply, what is your favorite pairing between your Aldens, Socks, and Trousers? I personally love my Alden's and absolutely love making them glow with the perfect pairing!

The combination can be as formal or casual as you like. It will be a fun insight into everyone's personal styling and preferences.

Apologize on my delay, but no rush as you still have the back half of April to get this one knocked out!!!

I have a lot of favorite pairings, but one of my long time favorites is based upon a truly remarkable pair of trousers from Epaulet. They pair just superbly with Alden's Cigar Shell Cordovan, but goes exceptionally well with the rich patina on my Cigar Shell Cordovan LHSes.

The trousers are Epaulet's Cedar Lavender Check Rivet Chino, Socks are Marcoliani Brown Argyles, and of course the star is Alden's Cigar Shell Cordovan LHS. The attire is often topped off with a sweater or polo or just a Blue OCBD, but in this instance I wore it with my favorite sweater, a Loro Piana Purple Cashmere Roadster Sweater.

Those who experiencing heel slip on aberdeen and van loafers should definitely try copleys.

Beautiful shoes! Did you go with your Barrie sizing on Copley like Brogue recommends? I've been eyeing Copley pennys (though in a darker shade like Snuff or Mocha). I prefer to wear regular dress socks with loafers; Barrie and Plaza require a slightly padded sock for me.

Yes I do. I personally prefer sockless/thin no shows so I chose 0.5 down my barrie. However loafer sizing is so tricky, it might worth buying a pair just for break in and see how the size works IMHO.

I had been looking for a pair of these for a while: model 06603 #8 shell unlined LHS for Brooks Brothers.

These just arrived via eBay. Seemed a bit tight when I first tried them on a moment ago. Will unlined shell stretch a bit? Even a second-hand pair?
