Wedge sole Wednesday?
Chonkmaster indys on their Maiden voyage (which these days means pacing around the study, kitchen and living room). Need to walk them some more to get used to the soft feeling and height of the wedge sole.

As a pre-check and Clear user, who used to fly at least once a month for work, but sometimes as frequently as three trips a month, I would only wear Alden slip ons to travel. I would always wear English shoes with a wood or fiberglas shank if I was wearing a suit or go totally casual if my meeting were the next day. Alden boots are not uncommon in my luggage, even if it's a short trip.

Guess I can wear something else when I travel. Wonder if Viberg's wooden shanks will be alright?

I don't think brass nails are enough metal to set off the detector. If they are boots with speed hooks, your mileage may vary.

Reminds me of the time I wore a pair of Alden boots to a concert venue. The security guy gave me a serious double take when I informed him that I was setting off his wand due to the shank in my boot. Apparently that word carries different connotations for most people.

I had a similar experience where the security guy gave me a funny look when I mentioned the steel shank in my Alden’s was setting off his wand. He called over another guard who took a look at my shoes and said to the other one, “He’s wearing those GOOD shoes”, and then let me through. Without saying anything, I looked at my wife and smiled to confirm why I love Alden shoes to which she responded back to me with an eyeroll

So tempted to get these as my first Alden Indy boot. I recently retired my only real boot which was the LL Bean Men's Katahdin Iron Works® Engineer Boots v1 because they no longer fit.
