Hello all, I recently got a pair of Alden x JCrew Indy boots off eBay that were in good shape. I'm unsure if they've ever been conditioned. However, I have heard conflicting information of the leather there boots are made of. Is it Calfskin or Chromexel? If it's chromexel, I'll only condition them 1 or maybe 2 times a year. If Calfskin, I'll condition them 6-10 times a year. I knoe you can easily overcondition Chromexel leather......

@Commisar It seems like J Crew has had a number of different Indy makeups in different leathers. A picture of the specific pair and/or the model number would help somebody answer your question.

Bookmark the Alden Model Project site, it is awesome for research on Alden
Be sure to email the site owner when you find a model number that is not in the database so it can be updated.

@Vincent George was right, a side effect of the COVID vaccine is looking at footwear (and who in the hell put two C's in that word, why?).....but I managed to save myself as TSM says "we don't have enough stock to fill the order quantity you requested" I was looking at 1 pair of Brown CXL boots......saved me...

So instead of boots, I ordered 3 new raised bed garden beds and a compost bin that will not offend the neighbors in the subdivision, because "it looks too rural"....really, I got called out on that at an HOA meeting last year....but they all seem to like my vegetables.....

Is this normal after wearing them around the house? I didn't even notice they were stitched.

OK, I'm after a pair of plain toe, brown CXL boots, any sole other than plantation crepe or full lug. I can't seem to find them....crazy. It seems that this, and 6 eyelet color 8 plain toe chukkas are just not out there...
