Has someone encountered a cordovan all eyelet-Indy on Trubalance?

Just a question, but has anyone here worn through a pair of 405's soles??? I have a couple pair that are years old and the soles look almost new.
Mine are three years old and probably my most-worn boot, and I can probably get another year out of them easy, but they are getting quite noticeably worn at this point.

My rotation is too big....maybe I should just sell off most of it and actually wear the remaining to their demise...

Today was the first long stretch I wore my new Alden 986 - put in close to 5 miles walking around Manhattan. Overall, they were comfortable with no pinching in any spots. I was pleasantly surprised since I expected new shell cordovan to be painful breaking in. The only part that felt a bit rough by the time I got home were the bottom of my feet - the soles just felt stiff with no cushion (as to be expected). I know generally sartorialists say no to wearing the 986 with a business suit, but I'm very tempted to for a business meeting coming up. I'm not in a super formal wall street investment bank or law firm environment. Is it a cardinal rule? I would think that the 986 will feel prett dressy compared to what many men wear with a suit these days.

Just ordered a pair of Indy 405 boots that I've wanted for the past 3.5+ and finally just pulled the trigger.
I am debating just immediately sending them off to Bedo's Leatherworks to have Steve convert them to a 360 degree welt and replace the fiberboard heels with stacked leather. Such a great boot that could be so much better if Alden just tried a little harder
I would argue strongly against a 360 welt. One of the reasons for the superior fit of 405s is the combo of 270 welt and Thomas heel. If this shoe fits well, don’t touch it.

i have a lot of Truebalance boots and nothing beats the 270/Thomas.
