For today, wearing the first pair of Aldens I ever bought, circa 2007. They've got some battle scars now and mostly come out on rainy days.

In other news, I can't decide if I'm proud of myself or disappointed for skipping out on the B+M NST pre order.

Nice shoes, and we all have regrets on various pre-orders

Modified last #8 Algonquin seconds today. These are an Anatomica makeup (5492), with a felt liner on the tongue. I didn’t win the seconds lottery with these; there’s a patch over the heels that’s probably covering a tear in the shell. I hesitate to buy shell seconds for this reason, but i had every other style in my size & the price was right. The patch breaks up the sleek curve of the heel that you can see here.

But oh the comfort! All the wiggle room of a Barrie or Trubalance D without ether the heel slip or the pinky crush of a C. I’m a Modified convert.

Happy Scotch grain Friday forum pals. (Yeah, I made that up. It’s not a thing.) Hampton last.

Not quite "Scotch Grain Friday" but coincidentally did wear my Country Grain today.

These were my first Indy boots and one of my first couple of pairs of Aldens. Had no idea they were rare or a special makeup till much later, just saw them on eBay for a good price and went for it. To this day I still don't own any of the OG 3 Indys that most people cut their teeth on.
