I bought a used Chukka Boot Color 8 and I need some help. Since it's my firts pair of shell cordovan, I can't tell if there's something wrong with the color of the boot.
The boot It's almost new, but it seems that there a some black shades that aren't natural...I'm not sure if the previous owner used some black wax in the boot...

I took this pictures with flash. Without the light/flash the boots are very dark.

Is that something wrong with the color? If yes, what's the best way to remove the black shades?

Tks!

Regards,

Not leather, the ubiquitous Commando sole that everyone seems to put on everything. However, I like Commando for a rubber sole, so it's cool. They are the Brogue "racer" V-tip boot

What are you thinking of getting from C&J? I recently received my pair of Conistons. Sizing is pretty straightforward from my experience. I went with the same size as my Carmina or .5 size down from barrie or trubalance.
Cool! Something like one of the wingtip boots in shell cordovan. So I should look into a 9UK. Thank you for the insight.

I have a wide foot so while I read sizing advice is to go 1 whole size down from TTS, I was advised to go .5 down by a CJ rep. They surprisingly fit exactly the same as my Grant boots. I measured them side by side and they are the same length too. I think if I went down 1 full size it would be too tight for me, but I can understand D width folks being able to do so...

V-e-r-y helpful discussion on CJ sizing. It is the only reason I don't have one of their shell boots in my stable. This may remove some of the anxiety as I have always been enamored with some of their makes.
