Happy Sunday forum pals. Yesterday was incoming for several pairs. The unlined, single sole, suede chukka looks terrific, but I'm a big guy and they just do not provide much support. They would look terrific in a recliner in front of a fire, but I don't anticipate using them elsewhere, so they will have to go back. These reverse tobacco chamois wingtips, however, made the cut. Lovely boot.

That reverse tabacky cham is made for PA winters. Looks great, impervious to the elements.

405s get a lot of love here. Is it a look, and they do look great, or is there a fit/comfort angle? I have a single pair of trubalance Indys and they are indeed very comfortable and fit well. What else does the 405 bring to the table? Is it the neocork sole?

All of the above, I suppose? The 405s are the original, classic Alden Indy so there's definitely that foundational aspect of them that's really cool IMO. I love the revamped color on the 405s, which kind of has a Color 4ish vibe and the leather is very tough without having any of the loose grain issues that sometimes come with CXL from what I've seen. Neocork is amazing and while not the best in the wet, it's very comfortable and hard wearing in my experience. Plus for many TB is a very comfortable fit.

No cats, highly allergic to them, although I do like them. Wings, like NST's, I didn't think I'd like them on me, then got a pair, now two pair......another slippery slope??????
