Well, at least it’s the weekend! Porter and ribeye for everyone! Sorry bout your shoes.
Founders. If you have the means, I highly recommend it. Some music from the 1940’s and ignore current events.https://youtu.be/ciHBGNMEW0Y

To be fair, if that were my first pair of Ravello, I'd be devastated. Now, I would probably keep them and wear them hard. Real hard. Something about flawed footwear makes me more willing to wear them and not care as much about every scuff, spill, or nick. Just a thought.

I'd probably do the same to be honest but they're not my boots and you'd definitely be more than justified in returning those too. If it's any consolation, I'd much rather deal with a discoloration issue on the shaft where it's going to be partially hidden by your pants than something on the toe.

IRL they are not a whole lot lighter than the pix, but a bit lighter in color. But like all things, they will darken, and darker boots will lighten.
I really need some color 4 but since I’m not holding my breath, my best bet is to darken up a pair of tan or walnut. I think I’m too chicken to fade some 8’s. But I may end up doing just that if I want shell.

Fading can be a crap shoot, results may not be what you are after.

I’m on the hunt for a pair that match the color in your pic.
I went and looked at the Ealdwine web site for the Phoenix boots, in reality they are about 1/2 way in color between the Ealdwine photos, and the one I posted earlier today. Next time I wear them, I'll try to get a pix in the sun.

Sounds like you need to find a makeup you like in the new Madison Brown Calfskin. I think it’s closer to what you are looking for than tan or walnut.

Today, UPS brought the joy. Cigar LHS. Unlike the majority, I actually take Van last TTS, not 1/2 down. Anyone else do the same?

This! That new Madison brown calfskin looks amazing. I will probably look to pick up it up in something. I have not done much looking to see all the available makeups yet. I think it would look phenomenal with brass eyelets.

It’s a great leather. Check out Ealdwine’s pre order:

That wingtip is going to be nice. Reminds me of the scotch grain make up from TSM that's on Hampton.

Well, those will blow the AE out of the water, so to speak. AE is good, Alden is better.

The Upstate tanker (and they changed the name right after I got mine) are an excellent boot, just the right color. Sometimes I'm afraid to wear mine for fear of scuffs but then I think.......they are jut boots, and Alden designed them to be worn..

Nice makeup. Aberdeen, flat welt and single sole going to be very sleek.
