I happen to like the symmetry and they way they lay perpendicular to the lace gap. Pull one string and they just come undone. Funny though, I never use the Berlutti knot on athletic shoes, or boots with leather laces (GS).
I've trained myself to flip the bow looping direction from what I learned as a child to avoid a "granny knot" and also get perpendicular bows. However people achieve it works as long as they do! :D
Agreed - I think leather laces would have to be ridiculously long to even be able to tie a Berlutti with them.
I'm fairly certain my Maritimes are tied with a Berluti knot. I needed the extra knotiness for the leather laces to stay tied.

I also have "flipped" the bow direction to avoid the granny knot issue. Honestly, I just like the way the darn Berlutti looks. But everyone tie the way they like, the thing is to keep them on the feet :)

I know, and they are "no show" socks, so I ditched them and went totally no socks
I don't honestly care if my socks show a bit. I'd rather avoid the whole leather sticking to skin over not seeing my socks. You've reasonably matched skin tone to sock color, so good enough. My Palm Beaches I'm wearing today are roughly the same color as my socks, so that's an alternative. Or, just don't worry about it like me, and wear a pair of stripey no show socks that do show a bit and stick out.

Off topic, with apologies, but I know there are fans of Ashland and Horween here :)

Anybody tried the Ashland x Horween CXL and dublin belts? They are running those now, very tempted.

Sorry to see that I missed out on the C4 shell wallets they ran (and ran out of) yesterday.
