Talking of closing stuff here in Champaign as well, looks like another "interesting" night and one to stay home, which all of us are getting pretty good at by this time.

I don’t own Color 8 LWBs, but it would be difficult to dispute Mac’s belief that 8 is King of them all.

My favorite pair of longwings, in honor of Uncle Mac. Unfortunately I don’t own a pair of 975, but I hope he would have appreciated the red argyle socks.

Mac was before my time, but his legacy is obviously strong around here. The "Mac Method" was one of the first things I found about taking care of shell.

I didn't own any Alden when uncle Mac was around, and was a lurker on this thread back in those days. I enjoyed his posts and he struck me as a warm hearted guy. I feel many of the regulars on this thread embody uncle Mac's spirit, which is probably why this is my favorite thread on SF even though I still mostly lurk. There is a sense of down-to-earthness and community that I don't feel on the other threads that I frequent.

The photo is deceiving. They are actually much more toward the red shade of color 8. I wish they were more eggplant or purple in shade. They are from 2013.

I enjoy watching some of my LHS (too many pairs!) fade, but for others, I like them dark.
