Readlly? I'm surprised they replace the footbeds too! I can see new heel pads, but a new footbed would make them basically brand new (and a decent value) at $175 vs others like AE at $125/$155

I think Don meant that they replace the heel pad, not the entire footbed. They do replace the cork filler underneath the footbed, though.

New heel pads, new cork footbed, they'll do the insole if necessary and the uppers aren't destroyed. You have to think of it from a manufacturer standpoint not a cobbler's. Alden is already building the entire shoe and has everything there, it can basically fit right into their production flow.
