1. It’s been said that it’s cheaper to book hotel and flight to a larger retailer to really nail down sizing as opposed to guessing, taking a poll, researching and making mistakes. Every foot is different and it’s almost impossible to give or receive advice on sizing without your foot inside whatever model it is.
2. There are no sales really. Familiarize yourself with the first page of this thread.
3. A rare shell opportunity may show up after 2 to 5 years and or having a collection of around a dozen pair or more first.
4. Give some serious thought to what styles work with what outfits and how you might wear them.
5. Be patient and be willing to wait for the style you need, enjoy the process.
All of this, particularly #1.

Looks like i'll be visiting Leffot in Chicago, which is very convenient for me since they're down the street from the office. Is there any bad juju in going there strictly for sizing, as they have none of the Alden's i'm looking at...

It'll be fine. If any of the ones you're looking at are considered stock items they can order those for you without having to wait for another special make up order. (never a bad idea to start building a relationship with a shop)

Keep in mind that if you aren't a standard D width, you may need to venture outside of Leffot to get fitted. Leffot is great but I don't believe they stock a ton for the wide or narrow footed guys.

These are amazing, and the edges look lighter, @sazon did you do anything to them or is it just the light and angle of the pic?

thank you. No I didn’t modify these at all. Must be the picture.

Leffot closed its Chicago store if I’m not mistaken.
