If anyone ever wants to strip the finish off of a pair of footwear, Saphir De'capant will do the job, just use in a well ventilated area, and wear some gloves......

Damn near, it must be pure acetone. smells like finger nail polish remover. I put about a dollar bill size patch on the driveway, lit it with a grill lighter and a flame about 2 ft high shot up. Lots of fun!!!!

No, color 4. It's not brand specific as it's sourced from Horween.
Carmina has done a couple of Color 4 GMTOs through their StyleForum affiliate thread. Of their stock colors, the closest to Color 4 is likely Rubi (aka Color 2/Garnet)
Color 2/4/6/8 etc are what they are. Where it starts to get confusing is the booze colors.
Wow so much helpful info. Thanks gents. Yes carmina's liquors are really hard to define though I am personally a scotch lover and have tasted a number of different scotch, this should be a shame on me LBVS.

Going a little bit deeper, how about the burgundy of carmina and color 8? Looks like carmina does source shell from horween but call them burgundy, which doesn't support the statement of "color 8 is what they are".

No offense, just willing to make it clear.

A few shoemakers don't refer to their shell colors using the Horween name. Off the top of my head, AE, C&J and Carmina all call Horween Color 8 burgundy, AE's and C&J's brown shell is actually Dark Cognac, and Carmina renames Garnet as Rubi.
