This may be a dumb question but I really gotta know if you or anyone else has the answer to it:
are the cordovan Indy (or other boots models for that matter) as comfortable as the CXL and calf?

I will defer to the expert opinion of @audog as I don't have the other leathers, but the comfort level for these started strong out of the box and keeps getting better with every wear.

I have notice that Shell Indys "make more noise" than other leathers, squeaks and such. It doesn't bother me at all.

I’ve found comfort has far more to do with fit than the leather.
