Q: Why are you increasing prices?

A: Alden has increased our costs on Factory Seconds.

Alden Factory Seconds have not had a price increase in the past 4 years despite regular increases on First Quality Alden goods.

Q: When will the new Alden Factory Seconds be available?

A: This is a HUGE shipment, more than we have ever received at once before. Because of this, we will be releasing new Factory Seconds in waves over the next 2 weeks.

We will send an announcement as these shoes are made available for sale!

How do we get access to TSM Seconds ?

You register on their site. Then you email them and ask to have access to the seconds. They will let you know when that has occurred and then you can search them.

Weird, I didn’t get that email and I usually get all theirs.

First pair .. #8 cordovan BB Tassels purchased 1978. Resoled and replaced many times throughout my life. Great shoe still.. glad I replaced my Black and 8's last year based on what I see on this thread. What a damn shame.. they are going the Italian route at BB. Alden and AE are out. I wonder how long that buyer will have his or her job.

My first were color 8 wing tip boots from TSM, posted pics earlier today. Including that trip, every time I've gone into a store to purchase I've gone in thinking 975s and walked out with something else. I always figure the 975s will be there next time guaranteed.

Good question asked earlier. What was your first pair of Aldens? Mine were the Brooks unlined shell loafers (RIP). I didn't know that Alden made them, and I didn't even know what shell cordovan leather was. I just liked the look.

Edit: I am dating myself, but the price was about $80.

Mine were 405 Indy Boots, and they started a fall down the rabbit hole.

I don't know if they're still available in store, but it's probably worth checking.
I had a pair of unlined LHS in my cart that are now showing a price of $420.
Of course they're also showing no longer available.
