I constantly forget that they can be the soup Nazi.... Need to check out Carmina for my other insane cravings.

I've gone that route too to satisfy my rare rare shell craving after seeing all of the ravello/ameretto/mahogany/whiskey on this thread. Try C&J for whiskey, although models are somewhat limited (amazing cap toe boot Harlech plus a SW blucher). Carmina offers pretty much everything under the sun in most of their shell colors, plus special SF GMTO in amaretto and soon to come color 4. I love Carmina's attention to detail but IMHO aesthetically and in terms of design balance, Carmina is not as attractive as Alden or C&J.

Here is my two year old pair of Natty CXL Bluchers. These received a good deal of CXL Bluchers.jpe wear, and I sent them in to Alden for new soles this Spring. Without asking, they resoled with a waterlock sole, which is fabulous. They must have noticed that I wear them in all types of weather, and the waterlock sole will work better for me. I have used Saphir Renovateur on them 2 or 3 times, but usually just wipe down and brush after each wear.

Waterloc is a great sole, very comfortable to walk in, wears better than leather. Not as good as Commando in really crappy weather, but seems impervious to water. And those look beautiful, Natty ages so wonderfully, no two pair age exactly the same, and that is the appeal for me.

Looking for photos of 401 Indy boots in the wild, thinking of getting a pair, but not sure about a black CXL Indy. Anyone here have some photos?
