Hello folks. I haven’t seen this mentioned in this thread Alden Madison informed last month that Alden is no longer going to make their medallion cap toe Boucher’s in cordovan anymore. Do any of you can confirm this? Will they make them now in calf or are they going to be discontinued altogether

Long time fellas! Saw the beautiful golf course and the TM driver talk and had to chime in. Not much Alden activity for me this summer but I have played some incredible courses in Utah and NC. Promontory GC, Tuhaye GC, and Pinehurst #2 and to name a few... Also picked up an M6 Driver and is easily the best I have had. My SuperQuad TP tour issue driver from about ten years ago was one of my favorites also! I keep telling myself I don’t need color 8 Indys on neocork.

(What I reall need is color 8 Indys on double leather with antique edges).

Stop this nonsense. Yes, you do !

They’re discontinuing the Shell models (2145 and 2146, yes) from the stock catalog. I believe they will still make them in calf and in other leathers, and they should be able to make them in shell if/when retailers order special makeups.

Don't mind the white, hopefully one day I'll not have to baby powder these things to death haha. Man I love color 8 and I love Indy's. Might need to look at the plaza last next...

Paraffin wax doesn't discolor your laces or make the tongues look like that. Just rub a little on the top edges of the tongues and the undersides of the quarters and you're Silent Sam. :)

I've done this after seeing it recommended a couple months ago on this thread. It has been more effective than baby powder, but still something I've had to reapply for each wear. It must be absorbing in to the leather.

I've got a pair of second hand aldens in color 8 that has dark/black splotches and streaks which I can only assume is possibly some excessive paste/wax? How do I clean this up ? I've tried saphir renovateur but it doesn't help much. Anyone with experience in this ?

I will say that while I purchased my pair as seconds, having spent a fair bit of time with them if I were to order a new pair of firsts, I'd probably go for neocork again over commando or double leather. Wears very comfortably and the thickness of the sole just looks right with TruBalance, IMO.

Do you have a picture you can share? Could also be unevenness in the dye

Looks like shell imperfections to me; that's why #8 is so dark now. I personally like those as is and see no reason to get rid of them. Embrace the variances!
Is that eyelet tab as dry as it looks?
yes, is a bit dry. was going to throw on a bit of vsc

Maiden voyage of the BB unlined LHS. Bonus shot of the lovely office carpeting.

I’m usually a 9.5E, but the 9.5D appears to be working out, thanks to a night of wearing them around the house with thick athletic socks. Strap pressure over my instep has already (mostly) subsided.
