If pairing with a black tux, the 9341 Aberdeen lasted plain toe oxford in black shell is a pretty savvy choice. It gets a formality ding for being shell. But if you’re into subtle, daring, intentional, rebelliousness, this is your piece de resistance, not the bauhaus wrist watch, not the illuminati cuff links. The Plaza lasted black plain toe shell oxford would pair with a slim fitting tux and the 8815 black shell plain toe slip on (270 welt) is another dark horse contender in this arena. Each having additional formality dings, if you’re into flat out malfeasance and dirty martini’s. The former having a chiseled toe and the later having a larger sole and vamp. Hey, this was fun!
I like the way you think.

Happily, they are a stock make up and can be obtained through any retailer without the 6-7 month wait.
Oxymoronically, the very reason I’ve been waiting lol. I can get it anytime. Actually, I picked up three or four stock models recently. But that one is definitely on my list. Just so many awesome makeups going around. Resistance is futile.

Thanks for the suggestions fellas.
Will give the round laces a go~

Seems the plaza last is more dressy with boots and Aberdeen more with lace up shoes. In any regard, feeling blessed.

I have steered clear of the Hampton last because of instep issues (I have none). So can't provide perspective on that one.
Aberdeen doesn't fit me badly at all. But Plaza is just dang near perfect for me, so it gets the edge between the two.
Ah yes, I forgot you are my flat footed friend! I am near the border on instep issues for Hampton but they fit me really well.

I haven't had any on foot time with my only (new to me) pair of Plaza shoes, so I can't comment on how it feels beyond a moment's wear in my house:)

Great write up! The plain toe as a style really intrigues me but I don't know if I want to shell out the cash for another similar style my others. It would just be another horse in the stable (pun intended).

I like the way the rolls are forming
You like the way I roll?

*I'll show myself out*

Thanks, they really are a nice boot. Got them for a song brand new.

The commando sole is nice for city walking!

Plain toe shell boots are 🔥
Thanks!! So simple, yet so sexy & elegant.

I like the Commando sole on boots, just the right combo of traction, comfort and looks. It seems like there has been a commando on everything trend, and some things lend themselves to other soles, but for a boot Commando is much, much better than Dainite or other rubber soles, IMHO.
