Been a bit. Visiting this forum too often makes me impulse buy a lot easier haha. First black purchase in forever, and first black shell. The brass really makes this model...

Everyone should have at least one pair of black shell boots, nice looking and the brass does set them off nicely.

Simply one of my favorite boots, especially since they now have a leather sole.

I did, incredulously initially, at Yenni's suggestion. I also would still recommend starting with Copley TTS unless you're on the small end of your size.

I remember you saying that. I am not sure if I am on the small end... The 11D was just too tight and the 11.5C Aberdeen just hits all the right places.

I don't know if it's true for all Plaza loafers, but I did for this one:

Lord, if I didn't alreay have a bunch of burgundy loafers those would be mine. Beautiful.

I've been wearing the 379 lasted boots all afternoon and evening and I really like this last. heel fit's tight, waist is right, toe room is good, they remind me of my GS Leo lasted boots. Is the 379 an "orthopedic" last? I have heard it is more common in Japan than here in USA, is this true. Yes, I know I could Google it, but everyone here is so much more knowledgeable about Alden things.....

It's a military last as well. The shape and style really changes up the shoes I've seen on it.

Brogue? I LOVE black shell. I do wish they had them in my size; they are amazing with the brass. You would think it would clash, but it just flows like water.

Happy Birthday to me!! These arrived today. My first Alden purchase in about 10yrs. Very stoked to have the Indy in black shell. For comparison, here they are next to my 11yr old Color 8s (recrafted once). I hope this doesn't start another Alden binge :eek2:
