Thanks for sharing. Anyone have experience with the wedge soles? I’ve been seeing them pop up more frequently.
I find them to be unattractive when new and even more unattractive as they discolor from wear.

These guys pick up lint very easily, but I've been looking for a pair of boots I wouldn't have to baby. I think it'd be hard to find a better choice. The Earth Chamois is an awesome color with subtle greens and grays; it's also amazingly soft right out of the box. Looking forward to testing these against the upcoming PNW winter

I recently bought a pair of pre-owned PTB from Leffot (D4410). These are on the barrie last but they fit much tighter width-wise than my same sized unlined shell dovers (2938F)..Is this common to happen even though same last and same size?

Thanks Dog. I think my only concern is how dirty or worn they may look over time given the light color to them. Yours still look pretty good after some wear. Can they be resoled to commandos later down the line?

Have a couple pair of boots with the wedge sole and it is very comfortable to walk in, kind of "springy" if that makes sense. I have only had the boots for a few months, so can't speak as to longevity of the sole. One pair, S&S boot has been in rotation at least once a week since mid summer and can't tell any wear on sole yet, just discoloration due to wear. View attachment 1053494 View attachment 1053495

I have a pair of the Self Edge x LeatherSoul "Conservation Boot" on the wedge sole and they have held up great and are extremely comfortable. The sole is sort of funky looking compared to most of Alden's offerings and while I think they only work on certain styles of boots or shoes, I really like them.

Mine are 4 or 5 years old and still pretty clean looking (though I've got a lot in the rotation so they might not get worn as often as some folks wear them).

Thank you, really helpful. I saw the new Indys from Yenni and think they look pretty slick. To your point, the wedge soles can look sort of funky but think it works on the new make-up. Also looks a little less bulky than commando soles from the photos.

Man, I'm really tempted by those blue suede Indy's at JCrew, and not sure why... Gotta fight the urge!

Me too. I’m looking for another pair of Indy’s. It says they have a rubber sole but I’m not sure which

Hello 11D friends. I'm offloading several NIB exotic pairs, in case you're interested. Just a heads up here before I put them up on B/S/T. I find myself mostly wearing boots and would like to find a good home for these pairs.
