I'd only add to what @madhat posted to say that colors like Ravello don't necessarily happen every year. It's at the mercy of the shells that meet the grade and other factors.

    They're awesome. And high-top-sneaker comfortable.

Ok, final gratuitous Indy shot. I have been wanting a nice (non-shell) black boot for a while. Thanks again @audog!

Agreed, I think it makes the boots look complete. But, I wouldn't turn down a double JR sole on a shell cordovan pair.

Commando works well on Indy's, or pretty much any more casual boot. Not as aggressive as a full lug, but grippy enough. I much prefer it to Dainite for a rubber sole.

Dainite is definitely something that will make me reconsider a purchase if I can get something close without it. I have a few pairs with it though.

I have a few AE with it, much prefer Commando or the GS rubber sole, if going something other than leather or Waterloc sole. Not nuts about the Plantation Crepe, but like the comfort crepe (white) sole on a couple pair of boots. Of all the sole types I have, Dainite is near the bottom for me.

    Commando is my favorite.
