Have you found that the CXL on these feels different to other CXLs? Somehow it feels tighter and more refined imo. Maybe I just love these too much lol.

Thanks, I really like them. They were kind of surprise, I had told Yenni over a year ago I might be interested and then she emailed me last month and said she had a pair and would I be interested.....DUH- one of those decisions that takes a nanosecond.

Maiden voyage. Loving these so far - they look a tad bulbous in 10EEE - but they are comfortable (I used to own some color 8 captoes in 10E that were too narrow). Looking forward to seeing how these break in. More photos in brighter sunlight soon

You have great taste in footwear. I received the same pair just yesterday. Went in expecting to buy the wingtip balmoral in #8 (974), but love the look of this shoe - and the single oak sole. Looks great with a suit.

Now that you mention it, I think it does seem like a more solid and scratch-resistant version of CXL. I just really like the combination of casual (commando sole, CXL leather, brass eyelets) and formal (Grant last, captoe).
