Yes it helps me especially the TTS comment. I'm also going to try the AE-5 now in 11.5 E when I stop at a store to see if that is an improvement. For me it always seems I'm right on the edge in 12 length. Thanks again.

That makes me wonder if you're really a Brannock 12.5 (or sorta a 12+). Have the store whip out the plate again. Weight gain/loss, time of day and all kinds of stuff can affect the measurement.

I've started cleaning out my closet [ShamelessPlug]see my signature [/ShamelessPlug] and realized that these #8 and alpine grain saddle shoes have easily been my most worn lace up shoe over the past year or so. They're about 5 years old and still going strong!

I originally got in on this J. Crew preorder about a year ago. Took myself off during the wait time and then regretted it. These came back on line in May with a Sept ship date. They arrived yesterday. Always nice that J. Crew ships their Aldens with an extra set of laces.

It's my first experience with Horween Kudu. First impression is its quite thick and very oiled and should be a good friend for wet days.

These look great! I had a pair of kudu longwings and they were indestructible but I ended up parting with them because I just wasn't wearing them enough. I think Horween's kudu leather is the perfect material for boots like the Alden Indy Boot or the Michigan Boot. If I would have had them I imagine I would have gotten a ton more use out of them.

4 years old this month. Easily my most worn shell. Brushed, deer boned, brushed,Venetian, small amount of color 8 wax polish, dark edge trim touch up today and these babies are ready to eat nails again.

After lusting after them for years, I finally pulled the trigger on the Alden Indy boots. I went with the 403 (brown Chromexcel) from The Shoe Mart. I went back and forth on these vs. the 405s, but ultimately went with the darker colored 403. I measure a 10.5D on the Brannock device, so went with size 10D in accordance with the prevailing sizing advice.

Looking forward to receiving them. These will be my first pair of Aldens.
