View attachment 801385 In Boston enjoying the tall ships this week. Beautiful weather here.

Grab the shrouds and scamper up the rattlins. First person to the main top and out the yardarm wins. And no using the lubbers hole.

Looking to get a foul weather boot (specifically to stand up to salty slush). Im down to the leather; deciding between scotch grain and reverse chamois. Anyone have any comments? I love the way scotch grain looks, but I am unsure of how exactly weather-proof it is.

Either scotch grain or reverse chamois would be excellent choices. Really different aesthetics so I would let that dictate your selection.

I have both and prefer my reverse chamois. I'm actually about to put my scotch grain shoe up for sale. It's really great leather but too much overlap with other shoes I currently have. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong.
