I would not recommend changing size because of material.

I recently made this mistake twice (with shell cordovan and with Chromexcel). Money lost. Lesson learned. Once the boot broke in, I realized my mistake.

It's just money, right? Or an opportunity for someone else to get damn good boots at a great price. Anyone on the hunt for 8E Indy's (#8 shell, CXL brown) send me a message. :)

If they weren't E, I'd for sure take the #8. So close!

Interesting, I don't change size on the last for essentially any reason.

Do you change size on last going from blucher to chukkas or boots? The flat welt J Crew PCT boots are too tight across the vamp for me in 7.5D. Whereas PTB, LWB, and Dover fit well. The J Crew recent NST boots seems to fit slightly tighter than the blucher, but not as tight as the PCT, which has a flat welt and all the other ones are reverse.

Ah the good old Jcrew PCT boot sizing quandary...

I generally err on the side of going a size larger. I can always use a tacco insole or tongue pad to take up more space. Too small makes a shoe unwearable.

My Barrie sizing varies between 10D and 10.5D, though neither is perfect. Could anyone here give me insole measurements for the heel and the widest part of the shoe from a 10E Barrie lasted blucher-type shoe? Trying to decide whether 10E might be a good in-between size. Thanks!
