Epaulet did a pre-order on a similiar makeup one year ago, #8, barrie last, all eyelets, flat welt and double leather sole. But not arrived yet.

Just had my Brooks brothers suede boots resoled with cork soles. Really pleased with the results. Maybe I'm in the minority but I never liked the way crepe felt when walking. Too squishy for me.

Looking great in your Black Shell LHSes. I would probably need to look up an old photo of MJ to get your reference.

As others have said, those are on the nicer side of the beater column. ;-)

    Looking great and lovely photograph.

Your Ravello LWBs are looking great today Burzan! Looks good with the olives. They are rather rolly polly.

Ben took good care of you, those boots look great and have a nice Snuff color. Good pairing with the denim.

Looking good in your new Alt Wiens. Mike killed it with that makeup.

Looking great DV in your Ravello CT Boots and your RRL denim.

Yeah, Steve beat me to it, best makeup is the Epaulet Alt Wien Boot, like Henry's Blucher, but a boot! Doesn't have split-reverse though (I believe).

Thats a cool looking outsole. Nicely done Schmallo!

Beautifully done!! Is it done by clobber in Taiwan?

Crepe sole is very comfortable for me but I only have one. How it wear out is what makes me avoid getting more...

Love it - that is great - I happen to like the crepe on mine but do not see them lasting long...I am thinking of going to Dainite Logger for mine - I have corded on a pair of Bergs...great sole

    Thank you, sir.

Yes, it was done by Mr. Lin at Dr. Sole. It took quite a while as he's pretty backed up with work. Plus I think his core business is actually selling the soles, rather than doing the re-soles.

Thanks! Yeah, it definitely didn't help that the crepe wore out fairly quickly. I'm a big fan of the corded soles. They give the boots a really solid feel (although some folks complain that they're too heavy). I think Dainite Logger would be pretty cool. Definitely post pics if/when you get them.

Thanks chipster and dubster. Really happy with these; great to see that shell stands up nicely to various types of weather. No longer gonna baby them ( at least not the darker shells I own [IMG]).

Thanks, I agree with you. They would have been more bling with antique, but they are great regardless. Took, me too long to wear them out...

I like the darker welt on this makeup. Antique is great for casual wear. This is a little more versatile .. Great boot Mike!

I agree. I like the dark welt on this makeup. The Ravello loafers are the ones that benefit from the antique edge color.

In fact, I would like to see some captoe boots in Ravello with dark edges!

What's everyone's choice for the heartiest weather-resistant leather that Alden sources? Kudu? Reverse chamois? CXL? I need to get something to relieve my AE Long Branch of heavy duty.

The AoSF rugged Indy boot has a fully lugged sole, it looks like from their web site. Does anyone know if it's that killer, bullet proof Vibram lug or the squishier Vibram gumlight lugs?
