1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

In general, are special make ups and colors other than black and no. 8 shell more expensive than stock models?

    It is CitiShoes.

First wear outside (and yes I am aware that I am wearing my schlubby jeans today):

    Hello to all,

I am currently rocking a pair of Alden 990 (Plain Toe Bluchers) in size 8 width C, Barrie Last. I feel just great in these.

I would like to upgrade to a pair of Wingtip Boots in size 8 width D, Barrie Last.

Do you think these will fit ? Or is the D width really an issue ?

    Many thanks,

    Bool

D width might be ok if you are planning on wearing thicker socks in the boots compared to the shoes.

I recently acquired some Tobacco Chamois LWB, the Leffot variety, second hand. My only complaint is the left shoe's eyelet holes aren't even.

How do you all care for your Horween Chamois? It feels a bit waxy and exhibits some pull-up. I'd like to keep it looking nice.

I just called CitiShoes about those whiskey LWBs. They do have more in stock. The largest size he said they had now was 10.

Based on the shell cordovan stamp, which is the older style, I'd imagine these are at least 8 years old, possibly older. I would assume that a local Alden retailer, probably one of those small menswear shops or shoe stores that happened to carry Alden in addition to a number of other brands, simply went out of business and liquidated their inventory. The local Marshalls buyer probably grabbed it. I would be shocked if you find this quantity of Aldens at other Marshalls, especially in other states. Out of curiosity I checked my local store, and there was nothing of interest except some Wolverine 1000 Mile in a Tan Bison leather.

Looking at the sizes on the boxes, they are almost all very large (11+) or wide (E), which would make sense why whichever local shop was liquidating its inventory likely could not sell them, even at a discount price.

Sorry I am not sure, it was posted on another forum and it was never mentioned. I think it might be in Houston.

Thanks for the heads up. None in my size though, but on the list for the next time they do a run. Whenever they do that again.

I thought that, but I was sourcing a pair through Ed at TSM and he said whiskey shell had a premium price on it vs black and color 8.

It wound up being $65 more than the same shoe but whiskey. It is not a big deal, but I was curious.

would you recommend switching from Barrie Last to Grant Last ?
I'm 8 / C on Barrie, what would be an equivalent on Grant Last ?

    Thanks !

8.5C or maybe 8D would be a good places to start if you are thinking Grant.

Upper shoes. Website says D width but it's an error. They only have E width.
