1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

That's awesome! My vote is for Barrie, but Tru-Balance is by far the most comfortable last for my foot. Tough choice but wear them in good health regardless!

Could you not order a Barrie in your size but go the next width size up?

They both fit just fine in D width - but TB fits just that much better. Most of my Aldens are on Barrie anyways.

Same with Viberg - both 2030 and 1035 fit just fine in D width, but 1035 feels that much better.

Well they are different. One has a Commando sole and one a double leather. Maybe I'll keep both! LOL.

I wouldn't mind knowing as well. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say $200 less than Alden's shell.

Maybe AE want's to encroach on Alden's "foot hold" on shell.

I think it looks fantastic. Can't decide whether I prefer this one with the contrast stitch or the murdered out black calf version Yenni does.

Unless it was RDA normally it's $650-$750 plus $110 customization fee. I would venture to guess about $835?

    Which one does Yenni have?

    I just checked Yenni's version.

That looks so badass. I gotta vote for Yenni's. Something about the white stitching on S&S's I'm not sure I like on that particular boot.

    But I like the leather.

But only size 8.5 left on Yenni's calf.

Yep, that's a really sharp boot!

It's insane looking. But it's calf, so it won't be nearly as hard wearing as walkabout leather. Just depends if you want something rugged or a badass statement boot.

    Well said.

If there wasn't the white stitching on S&S's and was instead murdered out, I'd a voted for that one.

And speaking of S&S, I just was notified of the arrival of an overdue order. A Regina grain dark long wing that hopefully looks a lot like the one below produced by Alden of Carmel. Pictures of the actual shoes will be posted when they arrive. S&S still has them in 7.5 D to 12 D. The one lonely 11 EEE they had, and is now marked off the availability list, is mine.

It's not for me, although the leather looks interesting. Very similar visually to the Shoto Indy at NeedSupply.

I do already have a 401, so these don't appeal to me as much as they might otherwise.

Barrie. Where did your Barrie pair come from?

I'd go for the one that fits better and is more comfortable. Fit and comfort before looks. If they are equal then Barrie. I prefer the look of the Indy over the NST on Trubalance.
